Old Pal Provisions believes in sharing and caring. Two values that transcend the boundaries of a company and extend a sincere offering to the world. With this in mind, Old Pal Provisions created Legalize Humanity™ — a project aimed at raising funds and awareness in support of positive change.
Legalize Humanity represents the simple idea that everyone deserves the right to live with dignity and the support of their fellow humans. This right extends beyond nations and borders, and should be shared as a universal standard amongst us earth dwellers.
For this reason, Legalize Humanity chose the nonprofit organization RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) as a beneficiary, and will be directing 100% of profits from online sales of Legalize Humanity products to support the center's programs. 50% of profits from artwork sold at the Legalize Humanity exhibition will also go to RAICES.
RAICES works to defend the rights of immigrants and refugees by empowering individuals, families and communities, and advocating for liberty and justice. They provide free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees, and are actively engaged in changing the narrative around immigration.
Humans are constantly moving, and migration is a commonality amongst all people. While the reality of immigration policies is unavoidable, the inhumane conditions that surround these policies are. No human should be deemed illegal, and all humans deserve the right to be treated with respect and compassion.
Legalize Humanity helps those who have found themselves in a vulnerable place by working with renowned immigrant support organizations like RAICES. Funds are used to assist in family reconnection, health care, and legal aid for immigrants on both sides of the border. Community outreach is also a key part of the Legalize Humanity ethos, helping to educate and raise awareness.
The reach of this project is international, creating networks across nations and borders with the simple goal of united support.
We are all in this together, so let’s take care of each other. Join us for the launch of Legalize Humanity with a special week-long art exhibition that encourages viewers to join a movement anchored in empathy and understanding. The show runs from Feb 1-8 at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles, CA.
